The goal I would like to see for the children is to have a CASA organization in all counties. This is an amazing organization and it truly advocates for children. I would love to work as a case manager for Casa. I think CPS needs to make sure they are placing the children in foster care homes that have similar backgrounds. Also there needs to be more culturally diverse families as foster families. I want all children to feel safe when they are in foster care homes.

ReplyDeleteI agree that CASA is such an amazing organization. I have worked with many case workers in my county, and the work that they do truly helps children and adults. I think that some sort of partnership between CASA and early childhood organizations would be a partnering that could really do amazing things!

ReplyDeleteYour post was very informative. CASA is new to me; I will have to research this organization. I agree with you CPS should try to place children in foster homes with similar backgrounds. It takes a lot for families to become foster parents. That may discourage many families from becoming a foster parent. You have to have a big heart and patience to become a case worker. It is a lot of work but, I know you can be a great case worker. It is a great feeling when you can help the families get back together. I enjoyed reading your post. Best wishes to you in your field.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing about CASA. I have not heard about it before but with the comments on your blog I am inspired to read about them. The work of case workers is truly commendable. I am not from US and foster care system is relatively new to me and in most television shows they talk about how sad the foster care system is, with lots of loopholes. These ought to be fixed so that every case worker feels and sees meaning in their hard work! I like how specific and clear your goal is.
