I have tried numerous times sinces Monday to conday sevral UNICEF origanizations across the world. The countries that I have contacted are : Italy, Ireland, Greece and Australia. I even tried the website for the World Forum Foundationd and the World Forum Foundationd Radio but they were unable to open. I did go on The Global Fund for Children and Save the Children and are corresponding with both organizations. I think both organizations provide help to all children across the world. I also contacted Armenia but did not have any response from them. The organization that I have choosen to study is The Children's Defense Fund. I really am impressed with their policies on povery. I look forward to learn more aboth this organization.
I, too, have yet to hear from my contacts, but don't give up hope. I am sure that they are all busy professionals and are swamped with everyday obligations. There are many people out there who are available to share information. I am certain you will find the appropriate person for you.
ReplyDeleteI was also unable to reach the World Forum Foundation through the provided links, but had no trouble reaching them after performing a Google search. I haven't fully navigated their site, but did manage to subscribe to notifications for one group and will continue my attempts in contacting international professionals through the site.
Both The Global Fund for Children and Save the Children sound like interesting organizations and I look forward to hearing what kind of information they provide you.
Best of luck to you in all of your research :)
Thank you Dana, I have been trying all week. I thought it was just me. There were a lot of interesting or choose from. So I am from excited to see how much information I learn throught out the course.
DeleteCarrie,
ReplyDeleteThese are very busy organizations, and the one's you have chosen seem to be interesting and I'm very eager to hear the outcome. Don't give up, I've tried to contact Armenia but no avail.
Hi Carrie, the countries that you contacted would be fascinating to connect with. Like Sharon and Dana said, don't give up yet as everyone gets busy and it just may take time to get back to you. I had one thought...are there any families who you work with who are originally from different countries and who may have family who still live there? If so, maybe you could speak with them as they may be able to help. They may really enjoy the fact that you may have the opportunity to connect with someone from their country. Just a thought! :)
ReplyDeleteI am eager to find out information about the Children's Defense Fund as it will be interesting to learn about their policies on poverty.
I hope your contacts reach out to you!
Take care,
Stephanie
Establishing professional contacts around the world can be a bit challenging and time consuming when you’re a full time employee. That’s why I personally chose the alternate blog assignment to be successful throughout the course. Hopefully you gain practical resources from The Children Defense Fund and share vital information with your colleagues. I look forward from hearing from you Carrie, good luck!
